More about Dr. Barton
Doug Barton and his wife, Robin, live with their two kids (ages 11
and 14) in the woods north of Wentzville.
When he's not doctoring
or chasing his kids around, Doug can be found hiking with his
bride of 19 years, doing a little gardening, playing computer
games (gotta keep up with what the kids are playing!),
working out, building models or perusing his stamp collection.

His adoring wife (it's true, she wrote
this!) works part-time as a website
designer and substitute teacher.
She loves her roles as
wife/chauffeur/
cook/accountant/forester/maid/mother
and enjoys letterboxing, running and
gardening on the side.

The Bartons' son is in 9th grade. He excels at math and is a very capable guitar player (and an expert
Wii drummer). He also enjoys hapkido (Korean martial arts) and playing computer games.
Their daughter is in 6th grade and is a
level 5 gymnast with Stacey's Gymnastics. Like her brother, she is one smart cookie. Speaking of cookies, she enjoys cooking and reading and especially teasing her daddy!
Doug spends time model building when possible, assembling scale replicas of World War II aircraft, ships, modern armor and hot rods. Recently, his corvettes contributed to a 3rd place club win at the International Plastics Modelers' Society (IPMS) Nationals. He also works as a judge at a number of shows. He just finished his term as President of his local IPMS club.
Doug's interest in stamp collecting was rekindled when he was given his grandfather’s stamp collection (started by his great grandfather). He wants to honor his relatives by expanding the collection and spends many free moments perusing his albums. He has one Russian album and is learning a bit of Russian on the side so that he can more fully appreciate those beautiful stamps.
Doug loves to stay physically fit, including weight lifting, swimming and running. He finished his first half-marathon in 1:45:00 and loved it. While working toward a marathon, however, he gradually tore up his knee (it’s hereditary) and it could not be corrected by surgery. So he joined a gym and gets up at 4:00 a.m. most mornings so that he can swim a mile and work out before going to work.
His favorite computer games are Guild Wars, Farmville and Metro.
He enjoys reading fantasy novels by authors such as Terry Goodkind and Robert Jordan, as well as historical biographies.
Favorite movies include Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Indiana Jones series, and
The Mummy.
